TONKAWA
San Diego Elders Club
TONKAWA MIGHTY MINUTES
February 10, 2013 - Noon
Jerry
Starnes and Rita made their way down the green corridor of the Indian
Human Resource Center. They were followed by Dennis Charette and
Gwen Cooper. Overcast and cooler weather have extended the flu season
and might have been contributing factors in the light TONKAWA turn
out.
Our blessing today is by the TONKAWA Vice-President
Jerry Starnes. With the prayer goes our wishes for and the health
of our absent members near and far away and also family and friends
having a hard time. Prayer is always particularly good at this stage
of our elders life with medical procedures and medication
prescriptions dominating much of the current life experience of
the members.

Fat Tuesday is next week and our potluck selections reflected the
season. We ate up the fine Louisiana Jambalaya and hearty black
beans TONKAWA potluck selections with appropriate appetite. All
was very tasty and Marti Gra special to the attending members. It
is excellent when we can gather together in fellowship and feast
as we enjoy each others life experiences and good company.
This meeting had a warm, conversational, lively
spirit and a core turnout of our faithful TONKAWA membership. The
entire meeting was spontaneous and rich with personal stories of
past life experiences and current travel plans.
Finally, about 1:45pm, as we cleaned up the room
and were dividing up the potluck leftovers we were wishing
each other better health options as we made our way out the door
to catch up with afternoon napping.
It
is always nice to see new members and guests drop in and are encouraged
to return. This is a real nice down home noon meeting to attend.
We are also very pleased to enjoy the regular attendance of TONKAWA
along with community guests and family members. Our next meeting
is at noon March 10, 2013.

Respectfully submitted: TONKAWA Secretary Roy Cook
