TONKAWA
San Diego Elders Club
November 14,
2010 TONKAWA minutes:
Jerry Starnes,
Rita and Roy opened the doors early to set up for the meeting. TONKAWA
President Violet Tunohun opened the meeting before noon. Tonkawa
gathered in good spirit as Jean Vigenault provided the blessing
for the fifteen TONKAWA members, along with visitors this past Sunday.
Some of the other members were still full from the Harvest dinner
or busy with friends and relatives and others, no doubt, took advantage
of the Indian summer warmth of the day.

Our faithful
TONKAWA members keep the cooking pots bubbling and the happy smiles
ready. The weather and dishes are passionately delicious. Made with
lots of love and care for a very festive Thanksgiving luncheon:
stuffing choices and gravy, green salad, cole slaw, sourdough bread
and butter, cranberry sauce, yams and toppings, and various other
yummy like: fruit cake, pumpkin pie, bread pudding and the ever
popular donuts with good strong hot TONKAWA coffee.

TONKAWA
greeter Nellie Ruiz adjourned the meeting at 1:35 pm and she will
call and remind all that our next TONKAWA meeting is at noon December
12, 2010 at the IHRC offices, 4265 Fairmont Ave. San Diego 92105.
Jerry Starnes, Rita and Roy put away all the tables and cleaned
up the room. Good times and a good TONKAWA meeting.
Maybe we will
see you and a friend (We are always recruiting Elders to be TONKWA
members!). It is always nice to see new members and guests drop
in and are encouraged to return. This is a real nice down home meeting
to attend. We are also very pleased to enjoy the regular attendance
of TONKAWA along with community guests and family member.
Respectfully submitted, Roy Cook
