2006 TONKAWA Picnic area is number six again at Admiral Baker Field, San Diego.

The TONKAWA Club provided: Franks, Brats, Buns, Soda Pop and Watermelon. We thank all who participated in the very generous pot luck!

This is located in the San Diego riverbed North of Friars Road and East of the football stadium. Our Chef this year is Jerry Starnes, Menominee. He was there early for set up and made sure everyone had all they wanted to eat.

There were craft projects, laughs and smiles all day long.

Both the Indian Education project and the American Indian Clinic organized: Games, Crafts, Bingo and Senior Contests

Swimming was facilitated by the AIWA Military Veterans from NOON to 2 PM ONLY, well, maybe a little later too!

Stories, songs, Our good friend Randy Edmonds shared thoughtful oral traditional lessons and messages.

Finally after much good times and greasy chins we started clean up: 4-5pm and the Park closed at 6pm.

The Sycuan Community Committee is the major sponsor. Mehan!
